If you've already seen "The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey," (or are not interested in seeing The Hobbit,} there are some new films to check out:

"Les Miserables"-  The musical comes to the big screen, starring Hugh Jackman.  Rated PG-13.

"Django Unchained" - starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jamie Fox. Pre-Civil War western with lots of violence thanks to director Quentin Tarantino.  Rated R.

"Parental Guidance" - with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler.  Comedy Rated PG (yes, parental guidance)

NEW MOVIES THIS WEEKEND!  IT'S ALL ABOUT "THE HOBBIT!"


The big release this weekend is the story of Bilbo Baggins, (as opposed to Frodo Baggins in "The Lord of The Rings" series.)  It's "The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey."  Rated PG 13 with many of the actors from the "Lord of The Rings," appearing in their familiar roles.  Click here for more info on The Hobbit, and other new movies...

THE ROLLING STONES CONCERT THIS SATURDAY GOES PAY- PER- VIEW!

The Rolling Stones concert this Saturday will feature some well known guests joining them on stage.  The concert is in Newark, New Jersey, and, New Jersey's own, Bruce Springsteen, is scheduled to perform with  The Stones, as well as Lady Gaga and The Black Keys.  The Stones are inviting people around the world to join in their 50th Anniversary celebration through a pay-per-view opportunity on major cable outlets.  Here is the story...

JAMES TAYLOR AT NATIONAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING!

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER WEDNESDAY NIGHT!

NBC will carry the annual Christmas tree lighting from 8pm - 10pm Wednesday night, (Nov.28th)  Celebrities expected to be in attendance and to perform, include Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, and 2011 American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery, among others.  Stewart and McCreery both have new Christmas albums out this holiday season.  Get all the details by clicking here...

YOU'RE TOO LATE, IT'S BEEN SOLD!!

The blue gingham dress Judy Garland wore in the "Wizard of Oz" has been sold at auction for a mere $480,000.  Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills says it was the hottest item in last weekend's auction of Hollywood memorabilia.  No such interest for a dress Julie Andrews wore in "The Sound of Music."  Just $38,000 or so.  Find out about other auction items here...

James Bond fans are ready for the 23rd movie in the series.  Daniel Craig is back as James Bond in "Skyfall."  Rated PG-13
The Stephen Spielburg film, "Lincoln," will be out in limited release at first.  It stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War years.  Rated PG-13.

"CHARLIE IS MY DARLING" BRINGS THE EARLY ROLLING STONES TO LIFE!!

Released in 1966 and then never seen again! (except by collectors) the tour film "Charlie Is My Darling," has just been released with additional footage and interviews.  It was shot on a 3 day tour of Ireland in 1965 so you will see the original Stones lineup including Brian Jones and Bill Wyman.  Find out if you're interested here...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAYS WINTER WILL BE... (TAKE A GUESS!)

Actually, the National Weather Service does have some predictions to pass along.  In general, "warmer in the west, question mark in the east." This region is in the East with equal chances of warmer, colder, and near normal temps.  And you're thinking, who needs the National Weather Service, I'll just flip a coin.  They do predict drier conditions to prevail for this winter following the draught of 2012. (not good news for snowmobilers and skiiers)

"LOVE ME DO " RETURNS ON VINYL.

Beatles fans, collectors, and music fans in general, will have a chance to purchase the 50th anniversary reissue of the Beatles first hit, "Love Me Do" as a 7 inch single.  Or, at least, that is the plan.  The first pressing did not have Ringo Starr on the drums and had to be recalled.  October 22nd is now the date for the correct version as collectors scramble for a copy of the mistake.  Read the developing story attached...

ANDY WILLIAMS HAS DIED!!

Andy Williams, whose smooth voice and relaxed persona carried him to great success on radio, on tv, and on stage, has died at the age of 84.  Williams had several hit songs including "Butterfly," "Lonely Street,"The Village of ST.Bernadette," and "Canadian Sunset."  However, his many years hosting his own tv show in the 60s, reallly established his fame.Find out more by clicking here...

ART GARFUNKEL RETURNS TO TOURING THIS FALL!

Art Garfunkel, following his recovery from vocal cord problems, is back on the road with performaces this fall including dates in Milwaukee Oct.26th, and in Minneapolis Oct.27th.  Garfunkel had to cancel a tour with Paul Simon in 2010 due to a condition which kept him sidelined until now.  Check his official website for more...

IT'S NO LONGER THE "MDA LABOR TELETHON" BUT A "SHOW OF STRENGTH."

Jerry Lewis is gone and now so is the telethon.  A long lasting traditional fundraiser is no more as MDA hopes to attract more attention and donations with a new 3 hour broadcast called the 'MDA Show of Strength." BOB DYLAN INVITES MARK KNOPFLER (OF DIRE STRAITS) OUT ON TOUR THIS FALL!

Bob Dylan may be 71 but he is not about to stop touring and this fall will be joined by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits fame.  Dylan is touring in support of his new album, "Tempest."  The two will have midwest dates on November 5th in Madison, November 8th in Milwaukee, and November 9th in Chicago.  Here is the complete tour story and dates...
