DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS SALUTE DICK CLARK


Barry Manilow and Cher are among the artists on board to help celebrate "American Bandstand" and honor Dick Clark during the Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony which will air in prime time on CBS. Also confirmed to appear are Marie Osmond, the Spinners, Ann-Margret, Jay Leno, and country star Garth Brooks. Clark, who is now 80 years-old, began his run on "Bandstand" in 1957. The show served as a launching pad for some of music's most memorable acts.
The 2010 Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS on Sunday, June 27th at 8:00 p.m. Central.

SEX AND THE CITY 2

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon are back on the big screen today with "Sex And The City 2." This time the ladies hit the desert -- Abu Dhabi, to be specific -- for global glamour. "Sex And The City 2" opens nationwide today. The film is rated R.



The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal in this action film in theatres this weekend. He plays Dastin, a boy living in 6th century Persia whose fortune is reversed when the king adopts him. The movie is based on popular video game.

JOHN FOGERTY IN CENTERFIELD


John Fogerty is headed to Cooperstown, New York -- not for a concert, but for special recognition. The classic rocker is set to be added in the Baseball Hall of Fame with his 1985 hit "Centerfield," which is being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Fogerty will attend this year's event and perform "Centerfield" during the festivities. The 2010 Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place in Cooperstown, New York on July 25th. ART LINKLETTER HAS DIED

TV legend Art Linkletter has died. Linkletter, best known for his work on the shows "House Party," "People Are Funny" and "Kids Say The Darndest Things," died Wednesday at his home in Bel-Air, California. He was 97. Linkletter's "House Party" series ran on CBS radio and television for 25 years. His "People Are Funny" series was also longrunning, logging 19 years on NBC radio and television.

SNOW FOR THE SUPER BOWL?

For the first time, a Super Bowl will be played in an open-air, northern city. The NFL awarded Super Bowl 48 in 2014 to the New York-New Jersey region Tuesday. It will be held at the Meadowlands in the new $1.6-billion stadium of the Giants and Jets, which opens this season. More on the Superbowl possibly in snow.

KISS IN CONCERT!

KISS has announced plans for their Hottest Show on Earth tour. The group will treat fans to performances of some of their biggest hits, such as "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Detroit Rock City."

JUDY PAY THOSE TAXES!

Judy Collins is the music personality linked to tax trouble. "The Detroit News" reports that the folk singer allegedly owes over 150-thousand-dollars in a combination of state and federal taxes. In happier news for Collins, reports are that Elektra Records plans to reissue nine of her albums. Judy is known for her hit songs "Both Sides Now," "Someday Soon," and "Send in the Clowns.

STEVE MILLER BANK IN CONCERT

With less than a month before the release of the Steve Miller Band's new album "Bingo!", the rockers are announcing new tour dates. "Bingo!" -- the upcoming ten-track studio LP from the Steve Miller Band -- is scheduled to be released on June 15th.

IT'S AIN'T MY FAULT

The Gulf Aid charity song "Ain't My Fault" is now available for purchase on iTunes. Rocker Lenny Kravitz, rapper Mos Def, actor Tim Robbins, Trombone Shorty, and New Orleans own Preservation Hall Band all took part in creating the single. Proceeds from the sale of the finished result will go to Gulf Aid in order to help those affected by the Gulf Coast oil spill.

GEORGE HARRISON DOCUMENTARY!

The upcoming documentary about the late George Harrison is almost finished. Director Martin Scorsese has been working on the project for several years with Harrison's widow, Olivia. Scorsese tells "The Hollywood Reporter" the film covers the rock legend's life, beginning with his pre-Beatles days and continuing beyond the band's breakup.

Scorsese and Harrison are promoting their project, titled "Living in the Material World: George Harrison," at the Cannes Film festival. No release date for the documentary has been set yet.

WE NEED "LAW & ORDER!!! (in more ways than one)

The long-running NBC crime drama "Law & Order" may not be dead after all. The show's producer, Dick Wolf, says while there may not be a 21st season, there still may be new opportunities. He says, quote, "The patient is not dead. It is in a medically-induced coma, and we are hoping for a cure." Fans are showing their loyalty to the show, with 17-thousand people signing up for a Facebook group called "Save Law & Order!"

Shrek Forever After

Everybody's favorite green ogre is back on the big screen this weekend in "Shrek Forever After." The curmudgeonly swamp dweller who is feeling a little restless after living the life of a domesticated family ogre. This latest "Shrek" adventure is being billed as the fourth and final installment in the "Shrek" franchise and will be screened in 3-D. "Shrek Forever After" is rated PG. "Saturday Night Live" funnyman Will Forte brings his hands-on special ops crimefighter MacGruber to the big screen this weekend. Based on the recurring "SNL" sketch send-up of the 80s TV series "MacGyver. This movie is rated R.

SURVEY SAYS - MORALITY ON THE SLIDE

Most Americans say morality in the country is tanking. A new Gallup poll indicates people are three-times more likely to describe the state of moral values as poor rather than excellent or even good. Only 14-percent of those polled believe morality is improving, while 76-percent said moral bankruptcy is on the rise. The most commonly cited reasons included a lack of respect for others, declining values and a lack of good parenting. Dishonest government, rising crime and moving away from religion also ranked high.

ROLLING STONE "EXILE" REISSUE!


A reissue of "Exile On Mainstreet" is due this week. Also rolling out in various markets is the rock documentary "Stones In Exile," which chronicles the recording of the album in a chateau in Southern France. The Stones recorded in France in the early 1970s to seek some relief from high taxes back in England.

LOVE THOSE PEANUTS (AND WE DON'T MEAN CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY)

Peanuts are popular. The National Peanut Board's latest Consumer Attitudes Tracking Study shows that at least one jar of peanut butter can be found in nine out of ten homes in America. Nearly a third of those surveyed see peanuts or peanut butter as a part of a healthy diet, while 52-percent say they've recently learned something about the benefits of eating peanut butter, and are considering increasing their consumption.

Robin Hood

Russell Crowe and director Ridley Scott reunite for "Robin Hood" in nationwide release this weekend. "Robin Hood" takes moviegoers through the origins of the myth. Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett plays Maid Marian in the film. "Robin Hood" is rated PG-13.

Just Wright

Queen Latifah returns to theaters with "Just Wright" opening nationwide this weekend. The Oscar-nominee stars as Leslie Wright, a physical therapist who develops a crush on Scott McKnight -- an injured NBA star played by rapper Common."Just Wright" is rated PG.

Letters To Juliet

Acting great Vanessa Redgrave stars as Claire in "Letters To Juliet," opening nationwide this weekend. Amanda Seyfried co-stars as Sophie, an American vacationing in Italy. When Sophie discovers Claire's 50-year-old letter about love among the thousands written to Shakespeare's fictitious "Juliet," she's determined to find Claire's long-lost love. "Letters To Juliet" is rated PG.

PLACE YOUR BEATLES BID


Beatles fans and collectors will place their bids next month on a rare reel-to-reel recording of a Beatles press conference. It's not just any press conference. It's the August 1966 event at Toronto's King Edward Hotel in which John Lennon was on the the hot seat for his comment that the Beatles were, quote, "more popular than Jesus."Global auction house Bonhams will offer the 14 minute original recording via its Bonhams & Butterfields house in Los Angeles, California.It's expected to pull in somewhere between 20-thousand and 25-thousand dollars.

JOIN CHICAGO ON STAGE!


Fans who love Chicago's single "If You Leave Me Now" will have a shot to perform that 1976 hit live on stage with the band. The group has partnered with the American Cancer Society for the promotion, "Sing With Chicago." The fundraising idea allows fans to bid via eBay for the chance to sing "Leave Me Now" live on stage with Chicago on a date during the group's U.S. tour. The winning bid will be donated to ACS.

50 YEARS AND COUNTING 'WHERE THE BOYS ARE!'

Connie Francis is introducing a classic from the early 1960s to a new generation via a dance remix of "Where The Boys Are." "Where The Boys Are" was originally released as part of the soundtrack to the 1960 film of the same name starring Francis and George Hamilton. The dance remix is timed to celebrate the song's -- and the film's -- 50th anniversary.

Francis will be in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at the end of this month to perform at the city's "Where The Boys Are/Connie Francis Great American Beach Party." The event also will honor the 50th anniversary of the film. Click here for more on the career of Connie Francis.

IRON MAN ll

The nationwide release of what is expected to be another blockbuster film "Iron Man 2" is this Friday. The sequel to 2008's "Iron Man" stars Robert Downey, Jr. as industrialist-turned-superhero Tony Stark. "Iron Man 2" also introduces Stark to a new adversary played by Mickey Rourke. Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Stark's love interest Pepper Potts. "Iron Man 2" is rated PG-13. Here's the trailer...

RESTROOMS ANYONE?


Most employees are less than impressed with the facilities at work. A new Kimberly-Clark Professional poll shows that 60-percent of office workers give the bathrooms in their building less than stellar remarks. Just 38-percent say the restrooms at work are, quote, "always being super-clean," while 26-percent note going to the john while on the job is, quote, "a 50-50 gamble, sometimes clean, other times a disaster."

RollingStone.com reports that Simon & Garfunkel are pushing back their "Old Friends Live On Stage" tour which was to have been underway now to July. After a debut performance together at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Saturday, April 24th. Art Garfunkel's vocal strain forced the reschedules.
