THE 4TH OF JULY - DO YOU KNOW YOUR HISTORY?

A surprising number of people are confused about the history behind the 4th of July celebration.  With the important holiday coming up, here is a primer:

It commerates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain on July 4th, 1776.

"Adoption" is the key word as the actual "resolution of independence' was voted on and passed on July 2nd, 1776.  This resolution declared the thirteen colonies as being now independent from Great Britain.  The Declaration of Independence explained the decision.  After some revisions by congress, it passed on July 4th.

A historical note, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence, both died on the same day, July 4th, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the signing.

A NEW ALBUM (SORT OF) FROM JOHN FOGERTY WILL BE RELEASED SOON!

John Fogerty's new album is called "Wrote A Song For Everyone."  He has mostly accomplished that through the ages and means to prove it.  Many friends from the music industry have joined him in reworking his classic hits.  People like Bob Seger, Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, The Foo Fighters and more.  And there is more, including some new music.  Get the details at John's official website here...

THE BEACH BOYS NEW ALBUM EXPECTED TO DEBUT HIGH ON THE MUSIC CHARTS!

The new Beach Boys album, "That's Why God Made The Radio," is expected to do very well with opening sales putting it in the nation's top 5.  The band is celebrating it's 50th anniversary in the music business with a tour this summer.  Here is more info on the album...
