Along with their white doctors' coats, all brand-new medical students at the University of California, Irvine have been given iPads loaded with all the textbooks, course outlines and other materials they'll need for their first year. UC Irvine says the wireless iPads feature hundreds of medical applications, have note-taking and recording capabilities and let students access audio and video libraries, along with podcasts of archived lectures.
