For the first time, a Super Bowl will be played in an open-air, northern city. The NFL awarded Super Bowl 48 in 2014 to the New York-New Jersey region Tuesday. It will be held at the Meadowlands in the new $1.6-billion stadium of the Giants and Jets, which opens this season. More on the Superbowl possibly in snow.
